Cannot choose Structural XML file in AECOsim

Hello Steve,
Just to make myself understood, my problem is that in "Structural Sections" menu, in the "Code" Rollout, i am not able to find "US" code or any other one besides a few presets and i cannot load it in order to do the similar.

Kindly give me an insight. Thank you,

The sections available vary between datasets and are controlled by the STRUCTURAL_SHAPES configuration variable. The US sections are not made available by default in the NM Dataset.

The US data file is present so can be added to your list of available sections:

1. Open your Project Configuration File (PCF) in a good text editor (Notepad++ is my preferred tool)
2. Search for STRUCTURAL_SHAPES
3. add the statement STRUCTURAL_SHAPES > US.xml
4. To pick up the edited PCF close your current file and select the PCF from the Project menu (or reopen ABD entirely).

You may wish to add a DataGroup Item named Concrete Double Tee or a more generic Beam item for scheduling, what is the context where these beams are being used?

Thank you Marc Thomas, it has partially solved my problem. I managed to edit the PCF, yet one xml file I have created i cannot load.

It could be that the XML format is not quite right. Your options to resolve this are:
1. Manual inspection of the XML in a suitable XML editor (I use Notepad++, this shows the tag structure and can be a quick way of spotting simple syntax errors such as unclosed tags, plenty of other XML editors are available) for a small number of items this can be a quick and practical method, but could be time consuming for larger XML files.
2. Follow the Excel method described in the wiki linked above. That will only need you to enter the values manually (taking advantage of Excel auto-fill, etc.) then outputting valid XML.
