AECOSIM process label is not working at view attributes

Hi,

I have a problem , I model structure and do the drawing at drawing composition I go elevation plan the dimension and elevation automatically shown which I want, but I want to show also labeling of the structural members. I go to the elevation model callout and find option to turn on process label but when I will going back to my sheet the drawing is not updating. In short anything I will do in the elevation model such as turning off grid line and etc. when go back to my sheet the drawing in the sheet is not updated. I try to do reload in the reference file still not.

Thanks

  • Interesting... as long as I check the Process Label option - it was un-checked when I opened the file - the Model Annotation does display as expected in the sheet.

However, I would recommend using a Drawing Rule instead to automatically generate those labels within the Drawing Model itself instead of processing the Model Annotation through the Drawing View.   It should still work either way, but Drawing Rule based annotation is much more common and can be moved or otherwise manipulated since it exists in the Drawing Model, unlike Model Annotation which is resymbolized along with the 3D geometry.

  • thanks steve,
I dont know how did you make it, but mine really doesnt updated in my sheet. But I agree with you better to do in drawing rules in the drawing manager.  I just not give it a try using dynamic view because they say its now the future way to make drawings, but for me still best to generate drawing in the drawing rules.

  • Huh... I cannot explain why the annotation wasn't displaying for you since we're working with the same file. While I doubt it has any effect, are you using ABD Ss6? If so, which dataset? Just to be sure we're lining things up as best we can.

But in general, yes, annotation is typically best suited for generation in Drawing and/or Sheet Models vs. the 3D Model. And I do think that would apply here, where Structural annotation is almost always within the Drawing context. I think if you follow that general workflow Structural annotation will likely run smoother and you'll have more control.
