Or can they only be added in Navigator?
Why not in ABD?

Background is I think is well overdo with printing paper copies, ad remarks, have some done, some not, when it is time to make new print following monday. Microstation CONNECT et.al. (like OBD) can "SHOW" Markups. But how can you create Markups nowadays that can be then taken over into the design and be commented? I was using that kind of workflow in V8i.

But the whole Design Review Suite for the roundtrip >Designers>MasterModel Manager>Reviewers>Designers (MicroStation>i-model-Composer>Navigator>…) is falling appart for the lack of functionality (see Marc's Diagram above) and/or products (i-model Composer to get an integrated model of all crafts)

Please describe how this Kind of Design Review can be done.

(Commented PDFs are worse than redlined printouts/scanned in Terms of Efficiency - they are completely detached)
You have to manually rewrite and recreate everything. Error prone.

With the V8i Navigator you were able to drag over text and comments form the overlay into the design. (Drawing Sheets)

I dont know but the bulk of review work is still done in floor plans (for Buildings).

RE: Markups

Agree and a way to truely manage those markups for differing Rev or milestone dates and symbology for the plans.
Yes I know I can. Manually

But I'd like a tool like 'Comments' in Adobe ReaderXI where you can have 250 drawings in a file and make comments - and they are listed in a separate column. Clickable links - so it is easy for others to follow. And at project level.

RE: Markups

A correction to my remark on comments in pdfs not being able to be saved to same file.
They are! But if you have previewed the file in Explorer the file is listed as 'in use'.
Close Explorer and you can ad comments to same pdf.

RE: Markups

You can do markups in MS but just not a complete product.

RE: Markups

Yes, it answers the question - Thanks.

Money isn't the problem. It is more the workflow of having to change program.

I like the way Adobe Reader and BlueBeam list markups - and a similar function in ABD would be lovely - and I would gladly pay for it.

RE: Markups

ABD includes tools to work with existing markups but not to create new markups. Bentley Navigator V8i is our markup creation tool. If you have a Bentley CONNECTIONS Passport, this will give you access to the desktop Navigator V8i from which you can create .i.dgn overlay files to use within ABD. The passport also enables you to use the Navigator CONNECT Edition.

Please note that while Navigator CONNECT Edition continues to develop there are functional differences between the two applications, as summarised below (diagram correct at time of writing, February 2016):
