ABD SS6 - Parametrics door question

Hi,

We have one question about parametric doors.

How can we add a handles, of it is no possible, some new 2D handles symbology into the default ABD parametric doors?

Is there any easy and rational way to achieve it?

Not an easy way
There are two ways
1. Learn to use pcs and create a PCS handle that you add to the door

2. Add the handle as a CCell

I concur with Mr NJAN AG.

PCS is probably the worst software I have every used to create content. The only person that can use it is the guy the wrote it......There isnt any logic to it, its complicated, hard to master and time consuming, thus no one actually uses it. The help files don't really help. If you can get hold of the Bentley training documentation, which I have, you still need a degree in astrophysics to understand it..... I would suggest you forget learning it. FYI CONNECT's parametric modeller will supersed it.

Hi Borja,
The need to replace the existing parametric tools is very well understood, we will be able to say more on this later in the summer, although I don't know what that will be just yet.

Hi

Thank you very much for the answers, comments and help. We have been playing with PCS for sometime. We are sorry but the conclusion is obvious: it is not a useful tool.

We know this is a support forum and not a developers forum. We know all the people in here does everything thay can to help and solve questions but we think ABD has a lot of problems by now. We are creating a lot of expectations about ABD CONNECT and we think would be very interesting to have some news from Bentley about the improvements is going to apply.

Door Handles need to be on elevations. Always have been here in the U.S. And yes BIM does not need it but the output does. It is PCS that is making it difficult not the process of BIM. My doors currently have handles. However sometime in the past I lost the file with those doors now I have to remake the PCS doors and I don't have the time.

The tutorials are so basic they don't take you anywhere. The real usage and how things are constructed is painful. Most of what I have used and forgot are not in any video.
