Referencing of DV files

I have created multiple DV files from a model which are then referenced into sheet files. The DV file appears correct in terms of positioning within the DV file itself (when i reference the grid file in) but when i try to reference it into another  file (sheet or design) it does not come in in the correct position. Each floor varies and the figures are random amounts in each case and not the same amount for each floor.

  • Rob, Are the attached files the same scale as the file to which they're being attached? I'm currently investigating an issue with nested Saved Views being attached to a sheet with different scales. In my case, the user has to set the scale manually in order to get the attachment in the correct location. I was wondering if this might be another test case for the same scenario.

If the scale is different than that of the active file, can you adjust the attachment scale and get the file to come in at the correct location?
    Thanks,
    Larry

  • I'm still having this issue. I can create a DV from a view container file when i open the DV file and look in the references the reference file is not imported at 0,0. This occurs randomly, i have 58 sections in a view container file all of which were created the same way and about 1/4 of them has this happen. It can also occur when i update the DV so for example i have changed something in one of the files referenced into the view container and i update the saved view settings, when i go back into the DV the file has shifted from where it was originally imported (0,0) to a random figure. It's extremely frustrating and something that shouldnt happen.
  • Hi Rob,
Can you upload a example of a "good" and "bad" file to see what's different?

Also, one thought that did cross my mind - any chance some of these had their clip volumes modified after creation?
