Dear All,
I have a 3D model which I draw with normal 3D tools like Extrude/rotate etc. but I want to convert this 3D model to parametric model. like Fire damper.
can any one help me to draw an equipment with the parameters.
thanks.
Adee
Your existing 3D model could be turned into a Compound Cell. When creating a Compound Cell 2D symbology can be added to provide the appropriate level of 2D graphics for the drawing output. Conmpound Cells are not parametric, a range of sizes would need to be created.
A parmetric component currently needs to be created in the parametric Cell Studio utility which does not import existing models. This is a limitation that we are currently working to address for future versions of AECOsim Building Designer.
We have online training that covers adding contnet to the dataset, please see the 'Customizing and Extending the AECOsim Dataset' module in Intermediate Workflows for AECOsim Building Designer Learning Path.
The Advanced Workflows for BIM Managers of AECOsim Building Designer Learning Path includes courses on Compound Cells and Parametric Cell Studio.

Hi,
Question after near 5 years: Can we now convert 3D models to parametric models?
p.s. these links are long gone..
