AECOsim Mechanical tools stopped working

Question

Hi, 
 I have AECOsim SS4, SS5 & SS6 versions on my machine and in all versions the mechanical tools have stopped working. 
 All dialogs for Place Duct or Diffuser etc. come up but nothing appears on the cursor to place. 
 I remember some years ago that registering the MSCOMCTL.OCX was required when this happened. 
 I have tried that, but it now brings up an error message and does not complete. 
 I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit SP1 
 Any thoughts would be gratefully received...

BENTLEY AECOsim Building Designer – (OBJECTS WILL NOT PLACE) 
 
When this program won’t place any element or object, please go to your control panel of your computer. 
Select the program in the add/remove portion of the control panel, in this case AECOsim Building designer. 
Then right mouse click on that program, you will see three options appear, change, repair& remove. 
Select the REPAIR option, this will correct any corrupt files in the program, once this is done, close control panel. 
Restrart your AECOsim Building Designer, and then try and place the item agai

I did the AECOsim repair and it seems to have fixed it. The Mech tools show objects on the cursor again in all ABD versions I have installed.
