Looking to analyze or dynamically design irregular shaped rooms for acoustic properties with AECOsim (SS6).
In particular, I need first to design for (or analyze) resonant frequencies, modal response and reverberation time. And second, I need the software to recommend (or let me experiment with) specific acoustic treatment methods within the space being analyzed - absorption, reflection, deflection, diffusion, bass trapping, etc.
It would be great if this were possible completely within AECOsim, but I'd get by if I could just export a 3D space and analyze it using other software.
For now, any recommended software or methods would be appreciated, but I also wonder if this is something that Bentley would ever consider packaging with/for their Building Solutions.
Thanks
Hi David,
This is not on the current roadmap for AECOsim. From a quick search, acoustic analysis applications generally work with DWG/DXF or various kinds of mesh model. We Save As DWG and can export to several other formats so should be able to generate data consumable by acoustic applications. We can also export gbxml from AECOsim Energy Simulator, this may be a valid input for acoustic analysis.
