Good morning all,
pulling our hair out with this one so any help at all much appreciated..!
We have some walls using a centreline symbology to apply some insulation when we run an extraction (DEM..I know I know).
If I pop a new wall in a file, cut it live, comes out perfect.
We have some files that have been generated over the course of the project that now somehow the centrelines come out COMPLETELY different.
For example, one floor comes out with Liquid Oxygen as the centreline. There seems to be a few variables at play, but I cant pin it down.
So if I create a brand new file, copy through the walls that are producing the wrong result, and cut that file, all works fine. But, existing files, which cut though that same model which is in as a building group view produce the erroneous result!
Is there some way that the file itself (or the file used for cutting it) could be overriding the dataset centreline symbology? The strange thing is that its sporadic and doesn't happen to all files the same.
sorry if ive not explained it very well, attached a few pics to help. Essentially, for some files the extraction coming from the building group view is ignoring the dataset centreline symbology. AECOSIM SS5
HERE is the answer. You will find it work on your plan but not your section. They have not adjusted this, now will it work as your pattern is there, just turned to still have an orientation to the plan view. The best you will get is a line but no pattern or nothing. The centerline is ONLY for Plan view and not Section. This worked for a short time in BA but broke pretty quickly. I have posted this numerous times but Bentley says until enough people find this valuable it won't be fixed. I started logging this over 10 years ago
To me this is a major reason why this product is not yet BIM as I should be able to create spart sections and still cannot.
Unless per another post this is a function of the libraries all being 2d.
