Hi all,
I have started using aecosim building design mechanical and I want to add diameter symbol before or after the size for pipes and round ducts.
When I use HVAC or Plumbing plan seed file, it gives me a plan with automatic annotations for duct or pipe but doesn't have dia symbol.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Azhar
Hello Azhar,
The automatic annotation is part of the Mechanical Drawing Rules. You can add a symbol in the rule definitions.
When you create dynamic building views a drawing seed file is used, the seeds have rules associated with them.
There are a couple of different ways a rule can be accessed and edited. One way is to go to t he main menu pull-down Building Designer > Mecchanical > Mechanical Drawing Rules Manager.
Select a rule, for example, Plumbing: Dom Cold Water New - Double a d select Edit. Select the Attribute Labels tab. Here you will see attributes that can be included in the annotation:
Select Diameter and you'll see that the Display for Selected Attribute is switched on and the fields are available for editing. In the Format field you'll see %VALUE% this means to use the diameter value of the pipe. My example has a %SHAPE% also, this means to include the diameter symbol:
So in my drawing that pipe would have a annotation like this:

You're welcome Azhar.
I'm not sure why you are not able to view the other SIG videos. Maybe you have a filter set in the search in the LEARN Server settings? These two sessions are applicable to SELECTseries 5 and SELECTseries 6. The recordings for these two months are broken down into smaller segments. See if these work for you.
Here are links directly to the videos for those months:
