When I create an AHU using the AHU Builder, It creates some + symbols, - symbols, fan symbols on the AHU. What do these represent and how do I turn them off?

  • In the AHU builder it is imperative to determine which way / direction the air is flowing.
There are some fan sections that can be utilized for Return air to the unit, and another section is used for supply air from the unit. The symbols designated on the sides of the components allows the designer to configure the AHU as needed for the project, and allow this component to be rotated to suit the connection to supply or return ductwork. As for the symbol, I don’t believe it can be turned off, but I will investigate further to your question.

  • After further investigating, I found out that the answer is yes, you can turn off the fan section graphic. This can be done by just removing cell symbol name from property panel. See below image.

In addition to the above, if you want to turn off module symbols after creating AHUs in AHU builder.

To accomplish try this one work around i.e.

    - After creating New AHU in AHU builder, save it.

    - Locate the same AHU under Catalog Editor and remove the cell symbol name(s) as needed (DO NOT remove the scale) and save

    - Now, place the AHU from AHU Placement dialog.
