It is taking me 15 min to open drawings that have been cached.
Should thes not be quicker?
Eric, You might try looking in file that contains all your saved views. i.e. composite model and see if you have any annotation overlay files in this file. If you do, delete them and then see if your cached files open quicker. Tom

We had an issue using SS4 with long delays in opening files in general related to annotation overlay reference files in our composite model. After going to composite model and deleting reference overlays, trouble files would then open right up. It usually would start to occur later in project after sheets had many different nested 2d drawing files attached that through nesting would trace back to Composite Model.. For some reason when 2d annotations overlays where created in composite model it would cause a loading loop that delayed opening sheets and 2d drawing models. Some times files would never open. Once composite model was purged of these extra references issue went away. For clarification, when I refer to an annotation overlay reference file, I mean reference files that are automatically created when navigating to composite model using the mini toolbar accessed by hovering over a callout marker. In SS6 , Bentley resolved our issue. I thought it may have some relevance in your situation. Tom
