Add 2D Structural Section profile from xml-files (STRUCTURAL_SHAPES)

Hi, In previous version we used steel.ma for placing 2D Steel Structural Section profiles. Now (ABD SS6) we only use our own xml-files (STRUCTURAL_SHAPES) for Structural profiles (3D). But how on earth is it possible to place a Structural Section profile into a 2D-design from the same xml-database?

I've search the net with no luck. The only what I came across was:

  • Hi,
Thanks for your reply Marc, but maybe I wasn’t clear of what I was asking for.

We are NOT interested using the old steel.ma because it’s using a different database from what we are using in our 3D-world, which brings us double work to maintain. Also Steel.ma only support 7 different types of profiles. Structural_Shapes supports 34 types.

The question is, as the heading of this topic: How to place a 2D Structural Section profile from xml-files (STRUCTURAL_SHAPES)?
