Hello, I placed a windows in the wall.
The window is a PAZ file.
I edit the PAZ file and also I modify this file in the PCS program.
I has select save and return but in AECOsim the window not is modifyed
The same with other PAZ files (louvers, curtainwalls, etc.)
Why?
How can I solve it?
Joaquin

Joaquin, if you edit a parametric cell through the Building Element Info dialog and open PC Studio, modify the cell, save and return, it only modifies the one instance of the cell in your 3d model. If you want to save it to your cell library folder so that it can be used again, you need to Publish the cell in PC Studio after you modify and save it.
Hello Robert,

Correct, I can in V8i but I can in CE.
Thank you.
Joaquín
I have to pick up this one.
Is there a way to to update already placed objects which use a paz cell if I edit the cell (with pcs) afterwards?
We have placed some doors and want them to use an updated (and published) paz file.
At the moment only newly placed doors use the updated paz definition. The 'old' ones refer to the paz definition as it was when they were placed.
File > utilities > schema upgrade didn't help. Neither File > Dataset Tools > reload catalog systems.
Any other ideas?
Ingo
Did you try selecting the old Door and using the Modify Properties tool?
When you pick the new Door in the drop down, it shoud try to transfer the parameters.
I suppose that the new Door will need to have a new or incremented Name...
If we just re-pick the already existing door nothing updates. If we duplicate the existing door in the catalog with a new name it will pick the new paz definition. But so we would have to duplicate all the objects we want to update. As there are several we want to update this would be quite an effort.
So we’re looking for a more elegant way to do the update .....
Right now the simplest way is to modify the door and select a different one, then modify back to the original. Support is investigating this at the moment so it's probably best to file a Service Request.
That's what we do right now (as a workaround)
We have to do a copy of the already exiting door, then change the placed door to this one, then chenge back to the oroginal so we can keep the name. But multiply this with 6 or 7 doortypes in 20 or more floors then you know what you do next week ;-).
We're looking for a 'cell_update' function in OBD.
Agree with you !
But FWIW, the Modify tool does work on multiple doors. Not sure if you noticed.
