Saved view

Saved view is created with required references turned on and the same is placed into the sheet. Now I had to turn on few more references and I turned on in reference manager. Then I applied update saved view. But still why MicroStation doesn't show those references in sheet? In the same way it doesn't show the level override settings. What needs to be done to get exact saved view settings?

  • Have you looked at the Callout tools, they make the use of saved Views more automated and might help with your situation?

  • Thanks for your reply. as per my knowledge call out would create a new drawing. but saved view won't do that. what i need is very simple. when we create a saved view, it takes the current settings of references and levels. but after if we updated the references and levels settings which will not update in the saved view which we placed in the sheet model.

  • Hi Santhosh,

FWIW, what you've described seems to be working OK here.   I created a Saved View with a reference attachment displayed and all levels turned on.  I dragged that Saved View onto a Sheet Model, accepting the default attachment settings.   Then I go back to the 3D Model, turn the display of the reference off and all but one level, and resave the Saved View.   When I navigate back to the Sheet Model those changes are reflected there.

That said, Marc's comment about using Callouts instead (since they include Drawing Seeds) is what we see most users doing, by far.   And you do not have to create separate models or files - just uncheck the Drawing Model option (which automatically unchecks the Sheet) and you'll end up with another Saved View.  Only this one will have the additional settings made available thru the selected Drawing Seed.
