I thought the Update 1 release was supposed to have fixed the Deployment Image option, because it hasn't
It still downloads everything, not just the options I selected.
And when I come to install AECOsim using the created Deployment Image, it doesn't remember the custom directory I defined for installation. I have to create the image with the full UI so I can change the directory when I do the install.
And it only installs the default US dataset. I have to manually install the additional ones I want.
I hope the next update will fix this.

Michael
Hello Michael,
I cannot reproduce the deployment image process downloading all datasets. I tested this defect prior to release and have just repeated the test of image creation using a new empty folder and confirmed that it only downloaded the datasets that I selected:
In your deployment image folder you will find a file ending in .lyt. If you open that in a text editor (it is an xml file) what is the install directory path listed on line 169?
Marc
I tried it again this morning with the same results.
I create a shortcut with the following command - D:\Bentley\CONNECT\abd10010036en.exe /layout. I set the directory i want to install into, the options I want, and the datasets I want to install.
And the resulting download is -
The install directories in the .lyt file are -
<Property Id="InstallDirectory" Value="[WindowsVolume]AECOsim CE\" Type="String" /> <Property Id="ConfigurationDirectory" Value="[WindowsVolume]AECOsim CE\" Type="String" />
But when I use the deployment image to install, the directories are -
And the installed dataset is only the default US
When I created the deployment image, I chose the AU, NM and NZ datasets to install.
Am I missing something ?
Michael.
Try running it from a command prompt that's the method I use:
start > cmd > run as administrator
at d: enter command as above:
D:\Bentley\CONNECT\abd10010036en.exe /layout
also ensure UAC is at the minimum setting
I tried your method, but got the same results. Everything was downloaded.
I can't reproduce or see an explanation for that.
Please can you repeat (on another machine if possible) with a fresh download of the installer?
