connect 3d parallel and perpendicular constraints

Hi,

I may be getting something completely off here, but I'm watching a weird behavior with the parallel and perpendicular 3D constraints. The parallel constraint makes the elements perpendicular and vice-versa, like they are switched. Anyone seeing the same situation? I was working with lines and shapes and the original connect.

  • Hi Pedro,

No I haven't seen that, can you record a video of that behavior?

  • I think these constraints only work with solids, so faces or edges of solids rather than 2D shapes.

  • Pedro,

You should put in a SR for this, I think.

The Parametric Solids + Constraints tools are still missing some key functionality like local ACS systems etc.

The 3d constraints should be able to handle normals/centrelines inherent to ellipses and extrusions like tubes. This will be pretty common given how many apps have to deal with piping etc. Edges and faces are a very good start, but it would be good to include normals/centrelines next.
