There is ridiculously old thread concerning AECOsim and the Building Collaboration Format which is extremely useful in ArchiCAD, Revit or TEKLA driven projects. I assumed that Bentley did not care about that Format as it was requested for a somewhat aged version of AECOsim, iw. 32 Bit. Unfortunately the latest version of AECOsim still has nothing on the matter. I could not find any entries in the Microstation BASIC documentation on how to adjust cameras or open and close view windows when I tried to write something myself. But wait, now I would have to do that in VBA for which I do not have documentation at all. Perhaps importing BCF could even be incorporated into the 'saved views' dialogue. That at least does offer an import function. Maybe some online hints on how to access that dialogue from VBA can be found.
There may be some short answers to my question formed as 'Subject' along the lines of 'but our competitors don't offer support for BCF either', there are free and paid for plug-ins for other applications embracing BCF just none for ABDCE.
Hi Michael,
Thank you for these comments, I have put a link to this post into an internal discussion on the topic of BCF.

Hi Marc,
are there any news about reading BCF (BIM Collaboration Format) with AECOsim CE?
Regards,
Christian
I just stumbled over a new plugin on the BIMcollab website and - tadah - there is a new plug-in for TRICAD MS (which is Microstation-based) on their site. Unfortunately it is only a mention of a plug-in which was probably developed by some German software company who make TRICAD so you will probably have to purchase their (paid) IFC-plugin.
I know there is some development being done at Bentley but could you perhaps provide beta versions to accellerate the process a little?
You can import and export BCFs using the Issue Resolution Service, then display thess via the issues window in CE.

Would you please ellaborate a bit on where to find the Issue Resolution Service, perhaps which Version it was introduced in? I have looked in the Collision checks' Markups which do not seem to have any import feature as well as the file menu's import entry which do not have BCF in my version yet.
