There is ridiculously old thread concerning AECOsim and the Building Collaboration Format which is extremely useful in ArchiCAD, Revit or TEKLA driven projects. I assumed that Bentley did not care about that Format as it was requested for a somewhat aged version of AECOsim, iw. 32 Bit. Unfortunately the latest version of AECOsim still has nothing on the matter. I could not find any entries in the Microstation BASIC documentation on how to adjust cameras or open and close view windows when I tried to write something myself. But wait, now I would have to do that in VBA for which I do not have documentation at all. Perhaps importing BCF could even be incorporated into the 'saved views' dialogue. That at least does offer an import function. Maybe some online hints on how to access that dialogue from VBA can be found.
There may be some short answers to my question formed as 'Subject' along the lines of 'but our competitors don't offer support for BCF either', there are free and paid for plug-ins for other applications embracing BCF just none for ABDCE.
This seemingly would do the trick: https://github.com/arup-group/issue-tracker the piece is under GPL3.0 and supports Bentley products amongst others. Maybe someone more experienced with add-ins and how to install them than me, cares to write how this works.
Proved to be easier than I thought: These lines need to be entered into one of the cfg files parsed when the Bentley product is run:
MS_ADDINPATH > C:\Program Files (x86)\CASE\ARUP Issue Tracker\Bentley\Connect
MS_DGNAPPS > ARUP.IssueTracker.Bentley.Connect.dll
MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST > C:\Program Files (x86)\CASE\ARUP Issue Tracker\Bentley\Connect\ait.dgnlib
For the select series 'Connect' needs to be exchanged to 'Select'.
hi, I tried but I've this message !
thanks
Hi Joel,
try as I might on my machine, but I could not replicate your issue. I did notice though that you seem to have a more recent version than myself.
As it is being hosted on github you should be able to revert to an older one.

Michael
Hi Michael,
I tried with Aecosim upt4 and it's running ! for me it's not ready for OpenBuildingDesigner upt6
Is anyone using this on a recent OBD version U8 or U9? It looks to me like the Gitbub page hasn't seen any life in 3 years so not looking too good ...
I created a new Idea on the MS Ideas page, please vote this up: microstation.ideas.aha.io/.../MSR-I-897
Hi Johan,
I am also currently investigating a BCF Workflow for OBD. I got it working with OBD U10.
More relevant to me is the fact that it only supports BCF files as specified by Schema version 2.0, which at this point is almost 10 years old.
