Hi,
I have trawled the internet for some time now and i haven't found my answer so I'm now at a loss, can some one help me or point me in the right direction!. I need to create bespoke structural shapes and these would be used to create slabs rather than beams or columns but i would like to use the place beam tool as i can then send it along a profile to create my slab. I know how to add new section sizes to the xml etc. but that's not what i am after and SS6 now has additional shapes included but still nothing that suits my needs. Would i be right in saying that the ProjectShapes.xml links back to some form of graphical version of the shape? or is it linked back to some kind of PC dimension driven file?
Any help, literature or diagrams on this would be most appreciative.
Many thanks in advance.
Hi Marc,
Thanks for your reply. Ah.. i thought that might be the case. Ok we will look into raising a request for some shapes. It would be great if Bentley could create and package some more shapes like the super tees with various options to tailor the variables to suit a given shape. On a side note, another useful tool would be the option to place a slab with the place beam method so it can be run along a path and have the benefit of being able to change the slab to another profile if needed, like you can when you change a beam size by applying it though the properties.
Thanks again, Robert/Marc
