Updating User Defined Content

Is it possible to update user defined and placed content in aecosim. I have several user defined elements made using parametric cell studio and added to the model using the place user defined content command. I have now made a minor change to the PCStudio.paz file which is reflected in newly placed content. Is it possible to edit the existing elements so they reflect the change without re-creating them from scratch?

  • Once your cell is updated in PC Studio, any existing instances of it which were already placed in any models will not automatically update.  As in the same situation with Family/Parts, if the Cell or Part is updated in its original location, you would need to modify the existing Cells or Parts in your drawings and re-select the same name to update them.
You can select all the same user-defined Cells at one time from DataGroup Explorer, then select Modify, select the same Cell name and place a data point to accept it.  All those selected Cells should then update.
