Hi
I've been using the export to COBie function. The component name & description are being populated in the excel spreadsheet under the Type & Component work sheets. There are other entry options. Serial Number, install date, tag number etc. Is it possible to fill this information out when you add component data to an element ?
In the help ( cobie type & properties ) it mentions that you can add in the data group catolog editor a definition for cobie entries. There are no definitions listed for Cobie & I'm unable to create a new entry for a COBie instance.

Hi Keith - for a more prompt response, you should post English language queries to the English language forum. I'll move this query and a colleague will look at it shortly.Regards,

Hi Keith,
Make sure you have the configuration variable IFC_PROJECT set to "2" as outlined in this Wiki article:
https://communities.bentley.com/products/building/building_analysis___design/w/building_analysis_and_design__wiki/21918/export-to-ifc-and-cobie-enabling-the-required-properties
Once that is done, you should see the applicable PSET properties in each placement/modification tool:

Hi steve
Thanks for your reply - I've tried modifying the pcf - the standard building template_GB.pcf . opening the catalog editor i'm not getting any pset or cobie relating entries in the attribute fields. The config change is under IFC. extend workspace with IFC prope - value =2.

Keith
I'm getting information into the cobie excel spread sheet under type I'm getting the name all other entries are set to n/a - shape, size, color, finish etc - The same for name. If the IFC_project 2 was successful you should be able to change the information when you add instance data ? Where does the cobie pset file reside ? is there any other setting that could be causing this to fail ?
You should certainly be seeing those properties in Catalog Editor:
When you open the Configuration Variables dialog while in AECOsim, do you see the variable defined and with a value of 2?
Also, since I just had to check that myself, I also just realized that we've changed the variable name in CONNECT - it's now IFC_WORKSET instead of IFC_PROJECT. Just in case.
