We had some trouble with the Place Deck tool that seems to be solved in the Connect Edition, so we are able to place Steel Deck now.
I notice when I select a concrete fill, the Concrete and Composite settings become available.
I would assume in the Catalog Type/Instance menu, we should be able to chose all Types/Instances we defined in the Catalog, or at least the ones associated with Slabs.
However, I only see 2 types, and when I change the type, it doesn't seem to affect the available Instances in the list right below.
I checked the help to see for any info on which Types/Instances suit this tool, but didn't find the answer. Any info on this?
Hi Stefan,
Which dataset are you working with?
Marc
Hi Marc
I's a custom made dataset we use.
Windows 10 pro
OpenBuildings Designer Connect Edition 2023 | 23.00.00.114
The details are a bit hazy for me at the moment, but are you referring to the Slab Catalog Instance vs. Slab Type?
Hi Steve
I'm referring to the Place Deck tool. You have the option 'Concrete Fill'. When Checked, you get the option to add a Catalog Type and Catalog Instance for the concrete, and a Catalog Type and Catalog Instance for the Composite (the Help mentions it's there to make it available as 1 element in the Datagroup Schedules, which makes sense).
In that list I only see 2 of our Catalog Types, while I'd expect to have all the defined Slabs available (see image 01).
I notice the same for the slabs in the Place Building tool, not all Slabs we defined are available (see image 02).
Just to be sure... The two pair of images I have on the left are displaying the available Slab catalog instances from the Slab (L) and Deck (R) tools, while the pair on the right show the "Slab Type" property (vs. the Catalog type called Slab) for those same items, again in both placement tools. So in both cases they are matching sets.
From the Place Building tool, I see the same selection of Stab Instances that I do in the Slab and Deck tools.
If there is a difference between the available Slab Catalog Instances... Hmm, I'm not quite sure what to make of that. Do you see all of the Slab instances in any one tool?
