Hi,
I am working on SewerGems. Trying to understand how Aecosim and sewerGems are connected. How to rvatiwork collabratively between sewerGems and Aecosim. Looking for integration between both the softwares.
Integration between SewerGEMS and Aecosim would be by way of data exchange. As Robert said, you could publish to i-model and reference that in Aecosim. Here is an article on the Haestad Community Wiki on this subject: What is an i-model and why does it show as a prerequisite? How do I publish an i-model?
SewerGEMS has the ability to publish to many other formats as well, such as Shapefile and Excel.

Can I find any example or tutorial on using sewerGems Model/Data in BIM Environment. can I find any procedure or execution methodology.
while importing in to BIM can we have the locations, elevations and BOQ which can be read and Generate a 3D Model automatically.
Hi Krishna,
What are you looking for, in an AECOsim context, outside of using the sewerGems model for coordination purposes? You mention location/elevation and BOQ in regards to "generating a 3D model automatically", but it's not clear the type of workflow you have in mind nor the end result.
Krishna,
Are you looking to produce drawings of water treatment plants, for example?
So, the piping etc elements designed in SewerGems, is enclosed by or connects to concrete structures modeled in Aecosim?
If so, I think that you will be disappointed in the short term. Aecosim currently uses something called Family and Parts for defining drawing symbology and Datagroup System for BIM / business data.
SewerGems apparently uses Element Symbology Manager. It should be possible to map the settings into F+P if you are generating the drawings in Aecosim.... with some help from Bentley.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the response.
What i am looking for is,
to Import the Model in to BIM (AECOSIM or REVIT) and Generate 3D Model where we can take it ahead fro 4D and 5D.
trying to understand the process...
Taking i-model to BIM do i have to make the terrain again or i can import the terrain.
How good is the i-model for creating 3D, 4D and 5D.
Looking for example or tutorials.
Also trying to understand the method of exporting sewer model to i-Model.
For me, it's still not quite clear... For example, you mention "importing the model into BIM to generate a 3D model". Is the existing SewerGems file not a 3D model? Whether in its native form or published as an iModel, that file can still be referenced to your AECOsim file; i.e., modeling in AECOsim around the existing SewerGems geometry or just "assembling" the two.
Can you also elaborate on the 4D and 5D aspects - which software you are using along the way, and the end result you are trying to achieve? The more specific you can be, the better.
