GBXML Export not working with Bentley Architecture

Hi Brian,

If the walls do not enclose a closed space, but are placed respecting the floor height set in floor manager  and enabling the Create Storey's Overlap Slabs option in the first dialog will enable the "Export" button.

Also if the walls enclose a floor slab, space and a ceiling slab, then in that case Create Storey's Overlap Slabs option need not be on for the "Export" Button to be enabled.

Pradnya, Still not working. Here is what I am doing. I create a new file using the BB_Modelseed.dgn. I open up the file and I select the Walls tool and place four walls enclosing a rectangle (using the *Default exterior wall*). Next I choose File:Export:GBXLM. At the Create Energy Analysis Model the only toggle I have change is the I have tried both changing Create Storey's Overlap Slab both ways. Still not luck on getting the Export button to ungrey. Currently it is pointed to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bentley\MicroStation\WorkSpace\projects\examples\000 SSA ArchProjectTemplateNcsUS\out\Empty-GBXML.xml There is no file called Empty-GBXML.xml in this location and when I hit browse it only allows me to 'Open' a file. Is this an issue? Brian

Why do I get a 'Named Group: Spaces not defined' under the event log?

Brian:  Do you have a spaces model referenced?  I could be wrong, but I believe the gbXML toolset requires the Spaces along with the Geometry, so you would need to have your corresponding Spaces file with Room Name so you can push the proper room to the proper Zone.

Shawn, I am not familiar with a 'Spaces' file? I have placed some "spaces" within the model, but that didn't work. Is the 'Spaces' file a separate .dgn/model that I need to setup? Brian

OK. Finally got something to work. You have to make sure you have a complete enclosure if you have a roof that is not at the floor level! Probably will have more questions as I work more with this. Brian

No, spaces are spaces, I just usually put them in a separate model so I can manage the building program separately.
