GBXML Export not working with Bentley Architecture

I have a consultant that has requested a gbXML file and can not get the export gbXML to work. For a simple example I put down four exterior walls, selected Export and I get to the gbXML, but the 'Export" button is greyed and does not allow me to chose it. I says it created the Energy Analysis Model, reports the time and then states "Named Group: Spaces not defined". What am I doing incorrect? Brian Thomas SelserSchaefer Architects

Shawn, I am not familiar with a 'Spaces' file? I have placed some "spaces" within the model, but that didn't work. Is the 'Spaces' file a separate .dgn/model that I need to setup? Brian

OK. Finally got something to work. You have to make sure you have a complete enclosure if you have a roof that is not at the floor level! Probably will have more questions as I work more with this. Brian

No, spaces are spaces, I just usually put them in a separate model so I can manage the building program separately.

Shawn, Thanks for the help. The idea of spaces in a separate file might work better. Do you know if there is a way to have a space display as a 3D space, with a volume that is tied to the ceiling height?

to my knowledge, 3D Spaces are coming, but not here yet. I know that the v8i Space Planner tool allows for the creation of the volume based on the building program, but I believe that's only when you use the SP tool in MicroStation, not BA.
