Hello,
I have 3D linestrings representing the running edges of a railway line.
I would like to turn them into 3D rails.
BUT My linestrings have too many vertices - I would like to reduce to about a third the number of vertices.
AND extruding the rail profile along the linestrings takes for ever and makes the file unmanageable (solid by extrusion)
Can anybody help me ?
Three things :
Reducing vertices in linestring.
Modeling rails - is extrusion the correct way to go ?
General advice about modelling railway track.
Thanks
Hi Fraser,
Just to double-check: are you using AECOsim Building Designer? The reason I ask is that it wouldn't necessarily be as well suited to railway modeling compared to something like OpenRail: https://www.bentley.com/en/products/brands/openrail
And another thing. How can I get support without being at the mercy of this community ?
Your take on it, I am sure, will differ dramatically from mine.
You have replied to my question but you have not answered it.
Who else will reply ? Who knows ?
