reference file repath

Question

I have several DGN files that the reference files aren't showing. I can't seem to find a way to repath them back into the sheet. I can see the files independently but not in the sheet side. Any help getting them to reconnect with the sheet is much appreciated.

I found under layout view I can click on the references button in the ribbon. Then click the red references that are missing, right click and pick settings. In the settings menu I was able to browse to the location of the files. Once I did that the references showed currently. 
 A little history. These files were exported from Revit. They needed to be renamed the way the client wanted them. While looking at it Revit seemed to export the references with a locked path instead of a relative path. 
 I was able to get what the client requested and they were happy.
