Hello everyone
To change units works in AECosim needs to change them in 3 files at least,
The project file and the seed fileBB_FloorMaster.dgnlibGridTemplate.dgnlibOtherwise the system do not relate correctly the unit works beteween Plans and GridsI think this is too complicated - and more important not useful - if the units works often change during the user activities.
Have you another way to suggest?
RegardsDaniele
We need to be precise about exactly want you mean by change units.
The DGN file's units of resolution should be (and in our delivered files are) the same for all files used by AECOsim and should not be changed. The required setting is:
MicroStation uses a different resolution. This is fine when DGN files with a different resolution are referenced, our applications handle the scaling involved. Problems can arise if a user saves-as, then uses a DGN at a lower resolution to create and work with AECOsim Building elements.
The units displayed while working are just that, display units, they can be changed on the fly while working. I keep the Drawing Scale Toolbox open and docked for this purpose:

Ok Markmy answer was incomplete, I forgot to say that when you change units works in AECOsim after the file creation, Grids and Plans don't collaborate especially if you change units works used creating Grid. The verify is the following:Create a new file with AECOsimcreate a simply orthogonal grid in mmchange units works in Meterstry to change floor from 00 to 01 to see that the grid don't move up 3 meters (3000 mm) but 3 mm scaled.
Thaks for your kind attention
I have seen this behavior.
In Update 3, which will be available very shortly, the interaction between active display units and both Floor Manager and Grid Systems dialogs has been addressed.
Floor Manager correctly displays the active display units of the active DGN. If Floor Manager is open when a user changes the active display units, it will close automatically and on reopening will display values corresponding to the active display units.
Grids Systems dialog also respects the active display units when opened. If the user changes the active display units while the Grid Systems dialog is open it will not automatically update it's display, but if the user modifies a grid, say adds a grid line, the values will redisplay to correspond with the active display units.
