Workset - Property Labels

Are these labels available in my drawings?

  • Hi Eric,

As with your "Project Data" thread you'll need to elaborate on exactly what it is you're looking for in regards to properties and labels; e.g., which specific properties, what type of label and located where, the relation to the workset, etc..

  • I found that when I create a project I can add properties to the project in the front menu.  Those I can add in hte text tool like I do model properties

I am trying to find if they also have cooresponding variable that I can use.  For example  - in where I place files in folders.
    ie

    $Address$&"-"$City$"-"$State$

Or it might be a more generic property liek  Property 1, property 2, etc

  • Sorry, it's still not 100% clear, at least for me.

    - What does "add properties to the project in the front menu" mean?

    - By referring to the text tool and model properties, do you mean adding Text Fields within the Text Editor dialog?

    -  When asking about corresponding variables, are you again referring to Text Fields?  And if so, which Field Type and what "variables"?

  • When I open ABD and come to the first menu and create or edit a project, I can add properties.

Then as I open a job I can place test with the use of these new properties for things like Project Name

I understand now that when I copy this into another job it will take the property from the job it is in making it more automatic.

    NOW or a variable $ProjectName$

I'd like to no be able to also use the property as a variable in something like a plots filename. or in the location of where a file should be placed.

I started wanting this now that I have all plots put into specific locations on the hard drive relative to a project BUT also I name the file based upon project variables.

I'd like to to more to increase automation of the stupid stuff like sheet modification.

  • Absolutely yes.

They are accessible through fields that can be placed as text.

Right click in the Word Processor select insert Field and select File properties.

Your custom WorkSet Properties will be available to then be selected see above.
