Only able to work on the trial version ATM so I can start to get me head around the changes to AECOsim.
We do all our steel modelling in AECOsim and the first thing I notice is that the Placement Point doesn't seem to be in the main dialog, only as part of the modify properties after a member has been placed.
Am I missing something?
Answered my own question, but this needs work to me. I don't like the fact you move away from the modelling tools and it can be painfully slow to get back to them.

Having had a bit more of a play with the modelling, it would be nice if we could have these options appear at the end of the structural ribbon rather than leave the ribbon completely.
I'm with you on that Bear, it would appear that being able to change the display mode on the preview window takes priority over usability.
You might as well do away with the placement dialog all together and put the functionality in the ribbon for all it's worth. I understand wanting to improve functionality, but this isn't it to me. Having to switch between the placement dialog and the 'place' ribbon just to put in a member is not the best use of time.

By the way, good to see you Simon, been a while.
