Trying to export an i.dgn from ABD U3...
I've noticed that any orphan cells (Ctrl-G) elements will cause problems.
Also had problems with Stair and even Wall elements as well as some SmartSolid extrusions.
Is there a list of workarounds / known problems?
Really disappointing.
Hi Dominic,
Can you please specify what kind of problem you are facing?
Warm Regards,

I get this error "Unable to publish business data for element <1716817> of type <2>"
I then have to use "analyze element selectbyid 1716817" to select the problem element and either use Ctrl-U to ungroup the element or Drop the element (Application Elements)
This seems to allow the elements to process, but is of course not a long term solution, especially becauee the dropped elements will lose their business data. This will screw up any downstream BIM workflows like quantification and rules-based clash detection etc.
No. Surprisingly, I seem to also get the error with other elements like ABD stair and even Msth extruded solids.
Also, the Publisher tool seems to only pick up the first element with the problem. When the problem element is 'fixed' and the user tries to publish, it finds other problem elements.
There should be an audit tool built in? It takes a long time to publish. Having to repeat the whole process everytime until everything passes is a big problem... hence the question whether we can publish each reference independently and aggregate them into a single package at the end.
Hmmm... I've published quite a few iModels over the last week while troubleshooting an unrelated issue, but haven't seen any obvious problems with standard AECOsim components. Which dataset are you using, and do you get these results with all DGN files?
This is a bit out of my normal realm, but.... You can retain each reference as a separate iModel by un-checking the "Remove intermediate files" option, and if you republish the master DGN with those intermediate iModels available and "Republish all iModels" unchecked, I'd image it would just add them to the final packaged version.
GB dataset SS5... but exporting from CE U3
Exporting from CE U3 is likely to result in dataset errors.
How is CE U3 configured re the dataset that the elemsnt were created in?
Marc
What do you mean?
The stair settings are out-of-the-box.
The extruded solid was a normal Mstn element.
