Since my update to windows 10 i can not open or import IFC files exported out of Microstation. is there a fix for this?
Cheers
Which version of MicroStation? I would assume you have upgraded to a version certified on Windows 10.
How are you exporting to IFC as this isn't available in plain MicroStation? Could it be another software package like AECOsim BD?

Mark,
IFC import works just fine in MS Connect, I use it almost daily when cooperating with Revit colleagues. however, as Andrew wrote, there is no option to export IFC in pure vanilla MS. you need vertical app to do it (AECOSIM)

Your question isn't clear. What application are you attempting to use to import IFC files that are created by MicroStation? What you're telling us, I think, is that MicroStation exports IFC apparently OK, but that some other application cannot read the file.

Hi Guy.
I'm running AECOsim Select Series 5. and the IFC export function was operating OK. I have had a laptop upgrade which can with windows 10 on it. and since then i haven't been able to export a IFC file that would works. to test my IFC files I import them over my design model to check them.
i Loaded AECOsim Select Series 6 on my Laptop and it produces the IFC file OK.
using the same design model with AECOsim Select Series 5 on an old desktop machine running windows i exported a IFC file and imported on the new laptop with hte windows on it and it imported OK.
so it appears that my issue is with windows 10 and AECOsim Select Series 5.
Support for Windows 10 was added in SS6. SS5 is not supported in Windows 10.
I don't know of a particular cause for SS5 IFC export to fail, but there may be some OS dependency or perhaps a Windows module that SS5 depends upon? Is upgrading to SS6 (or CONNECT Edition) an option for you?
