Hi,
Can centroid information for non fully symetric member (say angles, or channels) be set up in the sections xml file? I currently set out a steel frame based on centroid lines of angle sections so if we can preset the centroid for each section in the xml rather than type in the local offset every time would be greatly beneficial.

There is already an option for placing a section along the centroid. Please see the attached screenshot:

yes, but that's only works for I beams or symmetrical shapes. For angles, PFC, the centroid is default back to the shape profile origin (xy=0,0). I've got it working now by setting the x and y value for each shape in the xml file. Just that it would be better if the xml documentation is better documented.
This has been resolved in AECOsim Building Designer CONNECT Edition:
As you can see it is now possible to place the section along the true centroidal line.
