One of our largest issues is how to model our roofs correctly and easiely. Especially flat roofs with our sloped insulation. I really enjoy using the draw on solid tool to do some of this, but that only works on a primative solid.
We currently use some custom PAZ cells for, Roof Curbs, Smoke Vents, and Roof drains that have a rough opening for a perforator and we can change that dimension parametrically as well as schedule them. We are very happy with the PAZ, but they do not cut through a primative solid, they only work on a trifoma slab. This is where the issue lies, it is hard to construct a correct roof, and still use our PAZ's. Anyway to create functionality to draw on solid for a triforma slab? I saw the roof Tool in HevaComp that looks promising? I almost would like a Roof Assembly tool, so I can place all of my componets decking, concrete, insul, etc... But we are looking for a workflow now.
Ideas I am running out!!

I create my roofs with teh generic form tool just in hte elevation view rather than the floor plan. A Little confusing as to what is up and down at first. All items as you create in Paz are compound cells.
Now when I stretch or change the roof it KEEPS is smarts and heals itself.

If I use a generatic form, then I can not use my roof curbs, because a PAZ perforator will not cut through a dumb solid. I am assuming that is because there is no triforma data, but I am not sure.

Lauren,
This is quite correct. Triforma perforators can only cut Triforma Forms. This is the case with anything in TF that cuts an opening, including Frame Builder. Microstation solids are their own type (parasolids) and require their own cut tools. Frustrating I know.
