Hi there
I am experiecing issue with opening up the DGN file on ProjectWise. On the ProjectWise the file was shown checked out by me with the check mark beside it, everything works as usual until an alert window pop up, it mentioned the file was not the file type recognized by Microstation!
I did not use the Microstation at all for the file.
I am using the following AECOsim version :

Hi Lily,
That message would typically indicate that the file, though having a *.DGN file extension, is not a valid DGN file. Can you copy out the file and try opening it directly from the local \dms folder?

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately the copy out solution did not solve the problem. I have a feeling the file was corrupted, and I have replaced the corrupted file with our archived one at this point, I am just wondering what have I done wrong which lead to the file corruption, do you have any idea of certain things we SHOULD NOT DO which might lead to file corruption in the future?
Unfortunately it would be difficult (at best) to guess why or how the file may have become corrupt. Network bandwidth could potentially be an issue if read/writing to a shared location, but since you're using PW it should be copying the DGN file from the PW datasource to your local cache before AECOsim opens it.
Just curious though... you show that PW considered the file to be already checked out by you when you were in fact trying to check it out. Do you recall checking it in or freeing it up the last time you were working on that file?
Yes, I free the file once i got the alert message. I free the file before try to open up again.
