I´m looking how to elaborate some specific schedules.
I need to do two things:
1- Tag walls in a very large project.
These tags should be unique by each specifica wall an slab, in order to later generate detail drawings of each of them

RE: WALL AND SLAB HOSTED ELEMENTS - SCHEDULES

Maybe look at whether the linkage info between host and hosted elements are exported when an ifc is generated.

RE: WALL AND SLAB HOSTED ELEMENTS - SCHEDULES

Hi Matias,

Yes, to some extent Spaces are unique since they are used to define areas of a building, and so were designed to associate with other components that fall within those areas. This is why you can place Walls using an existing space, and why Walls have a "Is Space Bounding" property. It's also why you can see Space numbers against other components in DataGroup Explorer.

RE: WALL AND SLAB HOSTED ELEMENTS - SCHEDULES

Hi Steve!

Thanks a lot for your help.

If in this case, there isnt´t any property linking hosts and hosted objects... do you know how do "Spaces" work? do they have a special attribute? Seems that in that case, there is a link between hosts and hosted elements.

Thanks in advance,

Matias

RE: WALL AND SLAB HOSTED ELEMENTS - SCHEDULES

The first item can be accomplished by using an available property for identification purposes, both on resulting schedules

and thru DataGroup annotation: https://communities.bentley.com/products/building/building_analysis___design/w/building_analysis_and_design__wiki/7624/associate-a-new-datagroup-type-with-a-datagroup-annotation-cell-for-a-drawing-rule, https://communities.bentley.com/products/building/building_analysis___design/w/building_analysis_and_design__wiki/4030/4030

The second part is a bit trickier since there's nothing explicitly linking the host and hosted elements in the form of a property. So I am curios to see if or how others have approached this topic.
