Dear Forum,Is there, or can i analyse the difference between 2 seeds where one is labelled '3d Seed' and another on same project is labelled 'AECOSim Seed'?What should b e the differences when its a v8i [so, non-Connect variants]
There are a few different seed files for AECOsim Andi, is this one just for modelling as some also contain settings for DEM or DV.
DV being Dynamic Views? and DEM?
As for your query, i dont know what they are for but this is part of what id like to get to the bottom of. How would i know what each Seed is for? Or can i check any basic needs for specific AECOSim work/deliverables types?
DEM, drawing extraction manager.
Seed files are named to help identify them. eg. DrawingSeed.dgn, SheetSeed and so on.

i am interested in what you are saying about the Seed files
which seeds are for DV?
I have been having problems controlling override symbology with my DV 'cuts' with AECOsim
Might there seed files help with this?
on the projects i am working on, the client gives us a set of seed files but they may be behind the curve with DV's and DEM

The primary and critical difference between MicroStation and AECOsim seed files is the resolution, please see the "Units of Resolution" section of Setting Up in the Real World or "Where do we model?" for the details of why this is important.
DV settings are provided by the Drawing Seed Templates, for more on these please use CONNECT Advisor to find the learning session "Customizing Dynamic Views to Optimize Drawing production". The Drawing Seed Templates are stored in DGNLIBs, e.g.: "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\AECOsim CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Datasets\Dataset_UK\DgnLib\DrawingSeed_Mechanical.dgnlib".
The seed file itself contains far less than it used to, delivery of a set of standards requires more than just a seed file.
