Has anyone managed to get OPM models come through in DEM when referenced into an AECOsim model for mutli-discipline drawings?
Thanks,
That depends Bear, I have not used DEM for a long time but have found issue with building views
what format do you have to contend with?
I have found issues with OP's Aecosim models, more so than with ifc or dwg etc.
With the Aecosim models I have found that sometimes I have to copy/merge the data into new files in order for it to display
I gave up with CE and then DV's to stay with SS6 and DEM. Only issue I have now is that I'm stuck with OPM dgn files not coming through in DEM.
The reality for me is that until CE fixes the bugs and DV has much better functionality I won't be moving. Just working on more work arounds.
OpenPlant piping models. Not a big area either as it's just a skid arrangement.
Not had one of those before. I have found with structural models that the type(triforma or structural) in the dataset had an affect on visibility
Only way I can get the files to cut is to save-as to another name, drop all graphics in OPM.
I can then open the files in ABD and apply familiy\part and have it extract perfectly.
Sean,
Can you double-check your Group Model to make the OPM file is attached, and that it displays properly in the same view window as defined by the Levels To Process settings in the Cut and F/R tabs in DEM?
Checked and double checked Steve. I've even tried merging it into the group model in desperation.
Huh, I'm not really sure what could be happening. I tried a quick test myself - not knowing much about OPM of course - but the referenced geometry displayed as expected in the extraction.
So just to be sure - you open the Group Model and the OPM geometry displays, but in the extraction output all of it is missing? If so, any chance you could add a few non-OPM elements to the OPM file itself just so DEM is processing that geometry along with the rest? This would be to test whether it's a geometry issue of some kind or if there's something happening with the reference attachment itself.
Done that as well Steve. It seems to be some sort of accumulated issue or it might be an element type. I have some small, basic OPM runs that extract fine, but once we start adding to the model we start to see the element not showing. I'm going to have to try and see what the trigger is.
Sounds like a plan. If needed you could file a Service Request with support and attach the OPM file for testing on our end.
Only reason I haven't Steve is I've been told no more support for DEM.
While the Desktop Applications Support Policy does impose a shelf-life on Ss6, at this point we can still check whether it's reproducible on our end and possibly offer suggestions. No guarantees of course, but could be worth checking.
