I haven't done it with BA for a wile, but have just done a few tests and can in Mech and TF. Any chance you could post a copy of the file?
Are there any special features about the members?
I may be simplifying this, but Structural members place in Bentley Structural have different type of "connective tissue" between structural members (coping, member lines, etc.) that doesn't exist in Architecture, they only exist in Structural, which may be one reason. Grids should move, as long as you're in the active file? Well, let me preface that: They USED to as Grids were a TriForma-layer tool, and without a TriForma layer in V8i, I'm not sure
I know that what we used to do was use Architectural columns until things get settled, and then we used the Promote to Structural.
Thanks,
Shawn

Now I have tried to refrence the structural file in to the Architectural file. after doing that I tried to merge to master. It looks as if it goes through the process but when you click on the structural its still in the dgn file as a reference. So the idea of coping might not work. Also we are still working in XM having some issues with loading V8i right now.
Scott,
Both copes and the analysis model have dependencies which require Bentley Structural to be loaded.
