Problem Using 'Apply Planar Cutback' AECOsim Connect (Edition Update 3 - Version 10.03.00.40)
I have created a floor plan of steel beams. When I use the 'Apply Planar Cutback' tool it only seems to work half the time.
The plans attached show that the top two members have been trimmed back by 20mm as expected, however, the bottom beams both trim back to ~800mm for some reason.
In other locations the members don't trim back at all.
When I reopened the file today some (but not all) of the members that wouldn't trim now do trim to 20mm...
Is this a known problem with AECOsim Connect?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Simon
Hi Simon,
There is a report logged about the tool "Apply Planar Cutback"l doesn't always apply the correct cutback but this issue doesn't happen always. Development is already aware and working on this report. I will add your comments to the report.
Also have this problem is there a fix yet?
Open Building Designer (upgrade 4) - I have placed two sets of vertical bracing in the same way. Apply planar cutbacks to first - good OK. Try with the second - not good, works on one end only and not the end selected. Even forcing an end snap to the end in question is ignored ie. the other end cuts and nothing at the end I want. Picking the "wrong end" makes no difference.
These situations are often dependent on the layout of the Structural members and the current Cope settings. Here's a simple example where the current cope option is "any interfering member".
