New to AECOsim and I am in discussion for training but in the meantime I am feeling my way thru.
I feel like there should be an easier way. I have two pipe lines that are suppose to intersect, but when I go to place the four way connection, the symbol only lets me insert by one connection, so then I move along the line to the correct spot, then I need to rotate for the line that I placed it on, than rotate for the second line, then break both lines and connect all 4 pipes. I am sure their should be an easier way than all the CAD efforts I am doing.
Hi Jose,
Just to be sure - which version of AECOsim are you using?
currently we are using AECOsim Building Designer V8i (Select Series 6) Version 08.11.09.866Beside the interface is there a major difference with the AECOsim software between V8i and Connects version? Our client is in V8i so we started with AECOsim V8i...
There is a difference behind the scenes too, which makes them not always fully compatible.
Also, Connect is 64-bit vs 32-bit for V8i.

Very good points thank you for that information. My first question was how do I insert a part and then I was asked what version. I have seen both and insert a part is done basically the same way in both version; that is why the version question threw me off.
I am still waiting to see if there is an easier way to insert a part, than all the CAD I was doing previously (see my first question). My client is in a hold pattern now so, I am just trying to figure out some issues I ran into while I was working on the model file.
Thanks StecanC
It's important to include the version being used for two primary reasons:
- Tools and tool behavior may have changed between versions
- Using the same version allows others to replicate the issue/question using that same set of tools and behavior.
In regards to your question, see if the steps outlined in the attached video help.
sorry to say but this inserted a 3 way and then flipped the 3 way for the 4th connection, this did not place a 4 way. I tried a few times with the same bad results. I hope the training will help resolve these issues and other questions I have.
Training is certainly a good idea and will hopefully help you to utilize the tools and workflows to best achieve the desired end results.
