Hi everyone,
Am I the only one to be concerned by the very bad responsiveness of AecoSim (all versions, Connect seems even worse than SS) ?
Load time is long. OK, we can understand it. This is the same for Photoshop for example.
But drawing, modeling, typing, accessing tools, changing layers...everything is slow. Not dramatically but enough to be anoying and very unpleasant. And in our job, no pleasure = bad design.
For example, right-click one element to get his properties....2 or 3 seconds. Turn off a layer in the Level Display: 1 sec. ff you move too quick, other unwanted levels turn off too. Change from one task to another: 1 to 2 sec....Even the mouse is not fluid when you hoover on elements...
And all this is not hardware or windows related: it is the same on all our workstations even the top ones (32GB ram, SSD, GTX1080Ti,....),vanilla installs, all versions of Aecosim.
So please, take this very seriously.
Connect UI is nice (need little practice to get into) and COULD be effective but it HAS TO BE extremely fast and responsive.
I am interested to know if this feeling is shared by the community.
regards,
Xtov.
2 years later, there is no improvement !!
OpenBuilding, yes, they changed the name, but it is stills so slow.
Everything.
File loading is painful
UI is not responsive. You often miss snaps or lines. Try to grap clip volume handles.. you will miss them almost all the time....
You can not work with property panel open....
You can not work with explorer pane open...
Should I mention data group explorer ??
right-clic an object and ask properties....go grab a cup of coffee.
Material editor... seriously! Try to work with material preview on...
Luxology rendering....outdated by far...
I am sad but I really consider changing my software.
I am a long long Bentley user but i feel the software is so heavy they can't offer us a fluid and modern workflow. Cosmetic is nothing without speed.
Is someone considering this at Bentley ? Have you any plan to give us back an effective and responsive software ??
and stay at home.
Chris.
