Hi,
We are creating a building model in AECOSim, where has the other contractor have been asked to use Revit for doing the RC detailing. Since Revit has been used we are told to export the AECOSim elements in SAT format and supply to the contractor. once we supplied the contactor came back and told us that the element is increase its size by 2000 times. It is really weird. Please provide us the solution to have same size with in the SAT file.
Thanks,

First of all thanks for the response and Wish you a happy New Year.
Below is the screen shot of Design File.
Below is the Screen shot with the units, we are trying to export it as Sat file.
The working units of the DGN file do have a solids resolution 100X less than our default of 1000 per mm. Is there a reason for this? I'm not sure whether that has an effect when export to SAT but worth checking.
A difference of 2000X when importing into Revit could also indicate a units setting of some kind on import - can you check that with the contractor?
Steve,
I am having similar issues. We are actually using both OpenBuildings Designer and Solidworks. I have exported our file to a .sat, and then open that with Solidworks - Simply for other engineering units to use for other design processes. When I then open the .sat using Solidworks, the model is scaled down. I have not adjusted any of the advanced settings in the Working Units. Below is a screen shot of the current design file working units. If I export the model using the SAT File Units of "Feet", the .sat file opened in Solidworks then needs to to be scaled up 1000 times. If I use "Inches", it has to be scales up 83.333333 times. I have also tried using "Meters" just for giggles during the export, and the .sat opened in Solidworks has to be scaled nearly 3500 times to get the correct scaling for the others to use. What advanced settings should I be using to get an export using "Feet" to actually be scaled 1:1 when opened in Solidworks. BTW - Solidworks settings are shown as the second screen shot.
Finally, when I chose the "Edit" under the advanced settings, I get the following message. What trouble will I be in if I change these settings?
Are you modeling very far away from the Design File Center?
Hi Tim,
Yes, I am looking into this now...
No. Everything is at or near the design file center. I have taken steps to ensure that the Solidworks is set as close to the exact setting as OBD design file also.
