I am in an urgent need for a AECOSIM BIM management plan. Does Bentley have anything readily available that I can start with?.
Please could you expand on what you need support with? We can advise on software questions via this channel and suggest industry resources to refer to regarding BIM processes.
By the way, we noticed your question in the other thread, Jakub is currently on vacation so will not be able to respond immediately. Our professional services team, that Jakub is part of, can provide tailored support to organizations or projects that are establishing their BIM processes. Please let us know if you might be interested in being contacted by them.
Which region/country do you work in?
In the UK the places to start regarding BIM processes and management are The UK BIM Alliance and, as mentioned in the earlier thread, also download the free publications from here: cic.org.uk/publications; primarily the 'CIC BIM Protocol' and its appendices plus the 'Best Practice Guide for Professional Indemnity Insurance when using BIM'. The latter will answer (from a UK viewpoint at least) many of the inevitable questions about sharing information.
ISO 68078 was published recently, the UK version is available from the BSI, other regional variations are available.
In Update 4 of AECOsim Building Designer CONNECT Edition we added a file naming utility that can be configured to the appropriate regional standards, or indeed to project or organization specific standards. For the UK we deliver a BS 1192 example.
Please let us know if you have software specific questions that we can respond to.
Thanks for your prompt reply. Our office is using AECOSIM for a transit project and we don't have a BIM plan for our project. In order to provide some sort of direction to my team and the consultants, I would need some help from Bentley in terms of executing a BIM plan. Currently, everyone is working the way they find best with the AECOSIM software but their are no standards in place. We are also having issues creating renditions etc. I am looking for something specific to AECOSIM and not just a general BIM plan. I am located in Toronto Canada.
