Are we able to lock the Standard Section size that is defined by the Catalog Item.
In the DataGroup Catalog Editor you have the option to make the Property not Editable which greys out the Section Name on the Properties tab.
We have found that users due to the lack of experience have been changing the section size and not the Catalog Item.

I cannot find any way to do this in V8i because the DataGroup property and the section picker are separate items. However, in CONNECT Edition they've been consolidated so disabling the Edit flag does grey out the section picker/property.

Not exactly the answer I was looking for but at least this can be done in CONNECT. Do you know of a way to change the Datagroup Catalogue Item in bulk. I don't believe you can select by Catalogue item
Did you want to change the catalog item on existing elements or the section name assigned to the item?
Change the catalog item name on existing elements, the section sizes are correct. Its pretty annoying that you can modify the section size from the datagroup explorer and in excel but you can't change the catalog item name. I know there is alot more going on in the background for that to work but to have that functionality is necessary.
