User getting this error box every time she opens a file, whether it be a dgn or ips (Interplot). I am posting here due to the nature of the error message.
There has not been anything done to her computer recently and once she clicks OK, it seems to enter the file and everything is working normally, but it is taking a very long time for this box to come up and then to finish entering the file after the error is dismissed.
Hi Elee,
That error indicates that the XML file in question isn't formatted correctly for some reason. Since it's located in the \prefs folder I would suspect some type of write error during a given session. The file itself is an MRU, or "most recently used", and stores values that are/were manually entered into one of the placement tools. So for testing purposes she can try renaming the file's extension from .xml to .abc or similar - that should resolve the error message. It will of course also remove those last manually entered values but if the error is resolve it should be feasible to carry those values across from the existing to new version of that file.
