What is the commandline switch to open a design file?
From the help docs -R opens the design file in read-only mode. But this is not happening for me, when I run the string below for the commandline it just starts up OPD's home screen.
"C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\OpenBuildingsDesigner\OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe" "-wcF:\IOP\EW\02_Plant\99_CAD\bentley\FMG_WorkSpace_CONNECT\FMG_WorkSpace_CONNECT_Startup.cfg" "-wkF:\IOP\EW\02_Plant\99_CAD\bentley\FMG_WorkSpace_CONNECT\WorkSpaces\ELIWANA_WORKSPACE\" "-wwF:\IOP\EW\02_Plant\99_CAD\bentley\FMG_WorkSpace_CONNECT\WorkSpaces\ELIWANA_WORKSPACE\WorkSets\BatchProcess\" "-rF:\IOP\EW\02_Plant\99_CAD\autodesk\navisworks\01_Models\ST\0-EW-2110-ST-001.dgn"
The -R switch will open the file selected from the Backstage in Read-Only mode, but that's as far as it seems to go. I don't do a lot with command line switches myself, but I could not seem to get the -M switch (model) to work either.
Hopefully someone here has used these successfully...
It seems you need a " " (space) between the -r switch and file path.
Hi Simon,
As Tuan mentioned you need space between -r and file path.
Hi Steve, File can be opened with specific model using command line switches as shown below. [There is no space needed after -m and model name]
"C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\OpenBuildingsDesigner\OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe" D:\Empty.dgn -mTEST

Hi Guys
The -r switch doesn't work for me even when I put a space in as suggested. If it did work why would this be the only switch that requires a space, surely this is a bug and needs fixing.
I have a funny feeling you might have your double quote mark in the wrong place :) Since your file path doesn't have any space, you wouldn't need the quote marks.
