From the help docs -R opens the design file in read-only mode. But this is not happening for me, when I run the string below for the commandline it just starts up OPD's home screen.

RE: Commandline Switch to open design file OpenBuildingsDesigner

Hi Simon,

Well, I'm just glad you got it to work!

And yes, this would be a good one to add to the wiki to-do list.

RE: Commandline Switch to open design file OpenBuildingsDesigner

Hi Steve

Yeah I actually got the below to work yesterday but was too busy too reply.

"C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\OpenBuildingsDesigner\OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe" "-wkELIWANA_WORKSPACE" "-wwBatchProcess" -r F:\IOP\EW\02_Plant\99_CAD\autodesk\navisworks\01_Models\ST\0-EW-2110-ST-003.dgn "-mDesign Model"

The documentation is still lacking how to implement the new switches and it would be useful to add this to a wiki.

RE: Commandline Switch to open design file OpenBuildingsDesigner

Hi Simon,

Can you try simplifying your target by including only the .exe and the -r file command line? If it's not working with the space (it is for me now, thanks Taun and Sandeep) then perhaps the additional switches are a factor.

RE: Commandline Switch to open design file OpenBuildingsDesigner

I have a funny feeling you might have your double quote mark in the wrong place :) Since your file path doesn't have any space, you wouldn't need the quote marks.

RE: Commandline Switch to open design file OpenBuildingsDesigner

Hi Guys

The -r switch doesn't work for me even when I put a space in as suggested. If it did work why would this be the only switch that requires a space, surely this is a bug and needs fixing.

RE: Commandline Switch to open design file OpenBuildingsDesigner

Hi Simon,

As Tuan mentioned you need space between -r and file path.

Hi Steve, File can be opened with specific model using command line switches as shown below. [There is no space needed after -m and model name]

"C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\OpenBuildingsDesigner\OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe" D:\Empty.dgn -mTEST
