Would like to use the “floor manager” to add and modify our own "DataGroup properties" for "Site", "Building" and "Floor". Is this possible?
These properties should then be inherited to all objects in this building and floor. The objects require a position definition in which building and floor they are located.
(using AECOsim Building Designer V8i)
Hi Ole,
I can't say I've ever done this before myself, but, in the DataGroup Catalog Editor both Building and Floor do have entries using pre-defined schemas. I suppose you could try adding your custom property there to check the results. There is a schema for Site as well even though it doesn't display in Catalog Editor.
Perhaps others here have tried this before?
Ole,
What kind of objects are you wishing to assign these properties to?
Marc
This requirement has come up before in relation to IFC export.
It should happen automatically via the Floor Manager or Spaceplanner.
SR 7000375256
SR 7000157056
Spaceplanner would be a good way to assign spatial containment on a room by room basis.
SR 7000725190 Even if you are going to do this manually, you will still have the problem of not being able to tunnel in to nested elements in Cells / assemblies.
I already edited Site.xsd, Floor.xsd and Building.xsd. The "floormanager" showed my own properties, and i was able to edit them. But with a restart of AECOsim, the properties-fields are empty, so i wasn't able to save the properties to the project.
I don't want to assign properties to objects, i want to assign the properties to the site, building and floor.
I have to do more research on Spaceplanner and spatial structure. At the moment i'm not able to assign objects (like walls) to a floor.
